It's called Operation Sunflower, and it also resulted in the arrest of 245 of the very pedophiles who exploited children through the production of child pornography.
In total, 123 victims of child-sexual exploitation were identified and rescued in the international operation that lasted five-and-a-half weeks and spanned 47 states across our country and six other countries worldwide.
Forty-four of the victims were actually living with the person who abused them. The others were either abused by people outside of their home or they are now adults who were abused as children.
ICE's director says the operation highlights the depth and global nature of this problem.
"The results were significant but grim, a sad reminder to us all that online child exploitation is a real part of our lives and demands, absolutely demands, our full attention as a nation," John Morton, director of ICE, said.
