According to Fort Lupton Fire, a pickup truck was driving west on County Road 8 when it was hit by a Union Pacific train.

During the collision, the truck caught fire. There were two fires on the scene - about a half-mile apart.

Reportedly, the passenger compartment and the door frame from the truck was on the front of the train. Those parts were also on fire and traveled with the train as it tried to stop about half-a-mile down the track.

Firefighters were able to get the fires out around 6:20 a.m.
