An Arapahoe County judge imposed a gag order in the case the Monday following July 20 shooting at the Aurora theater.
The gag order prevented investigators, first responders and court personnel from talking about the case.
This week during the preliminary hearing a number of new details were made public, including testimony from police officers, details of Holmes' arrest and the bombs found in his apartment.
Despite this new information, the gag order remains in place and documents are still sealed.
The city has received a number of open records requests following the hearing. The attorney representing the city will be in court Friday.
