Investigators say the man - thought to be driving drunk Monday - crashed his car and pointed a gun at a deputy.

The Sheriff's Office said in an email it's chosen to withhold the name of the man killed by the deputy at the request of his family.

The Sheriff's Office has not responded to repeated requests over several days to discuss this unusual decision.
