KUSA - Everyone inside a condominium unit was able to safely escape a fire that broke out Sunday morning in Wheat Ridge.

At around 10:30 a.m., crews responded to the fire on the 2800 block of Harlan Street. Firefighters say smoke appeared to be coming from a unit that showed signs of hoarding, making it difficult to extinguish the fire.

The fire spread through the interior walls and to other units before crews could get it under control.

Four units were heavily damaged and several others also suffered some type of damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
