HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (AP) - A committee has decided to focus on adding a tolled express lane on a 13-mile stretch of C-470 to relieve congestion on the highway south of Denver.
The C-470 Corridor Coalition Policy Committee on Monday unanimously backed the express lane option on C-470 between Interstate 25 and Kipling Street. It dismissed options to fund improvements through sales or property tax increases.
The coalition will now get costs estimates, refine designs, study traffic and potential revenue, and pursue funding.
It could still be two more years before any construction begins.
