COLORADO SPRINGS - The dog that made Colorado proud on the national stage is on his way home Wednesday after almost becoming America's top dog.

Swagger, the 20-month-old sheep dog from Colorado Springs, competed for Best in Show at the Westminster Dog Show in New York Tuesday night. He came in second.

9NEWS had a chance to visit with Swagger's baby sister. The dog's name is All Blown Out.

His mom, Georgie Girl, and dad, Shooter, are proud parents. They too are highly decorated and enjoying their retirement in Colorado Springs.

Doug Johnson, the proud owner, just arrived from New York Wednesday to tell Swagger's parents they should be proud.
