KUSA - Since joining the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in 1996, Metro State has achieved great success with their 15 athletic teams: 36 RMAC Tournament championships, 33 regular season championships and 114 NCAA championship appearances. The Metro State club football team would like to contribute to those accomplishments at some point.

The MSU Football Club has been around for four years and attracts a lot of talented football players. They are a member of the APFL II (American Developmental Football League) with teams in Colorado, South Dakota and Wyoming.

The team is not sanctioned or funded by Metro State. All the coaches are volunteer and players pay their own costs for participating and equipment.

Last season, the Roadrunners finished the regular season 3-3 and made the playoffs before being eliminated in the first round. The team is coached by Jim Cobb, a former coach in the Colorado Football Conference and has experience with the Indoor Football game as well.

Coach Cobb joined Susie Wargin in studio to talk about an upcoming fundraiser for the club team with the Colorado Ice. To see the interview visit the video player above.
