KUSA - For an original, quick gift idea, look no further than the 2013 Home + Housewares show. The newest and most intriguing trinkets for the home will be unveiled on March 10 at the show. 9NEWS got a sneak peek at a few showcased items on Wednesday.
9NEWS business reporter Gregg Moss spoke with TV consumer reporter Steve Filmer about some of the hottest products this year. Among them was a vacuum that can spray your floors to remove those sticky spots.
"Even your best vacuum is really only getting about 80 percent of the dirt off the ground. This is Shark's new Duo, and it'll work on hard-floors as well as carpets," Filmer said.
A mini single-serve espresso machine was also among the new gadgets.
"It makes true, high-pressure, bold, strong espresso flavor," Filmer said.
If soda is more their style, Filmer also showed off the trending SodaStream Fizz Home Soda Maker. This one, however, is different from the one already sold in SkyMall.
"You've got more than 60 flavors now. You've got diets. You've got, you know, stuff that doesn't include a lot of scary aspartame or weird chemicals," Filmer said. "[It's} $130 to $150 depending on how many flavors you want."
The International Home + Housewares Show is the largest marketplace in the world. Thousands of products will be showcased March 10to 12 in Chicago.
