DENVER - A 13-year-old Denver girl is on her way to New York where she'll appear on NBC's Today Show.

Lyla Padden has been baking cupcakes since she was 10-years-old, "I've always loved baking. So one day, I decided I wanted more money so I started cupcake business." Her business is known as 'Flour Gal.'

The cupcake entrepreneur recently won "Today's Future Stars of Tomorrow" contest and will appear live on the Today Show on Friday morning, March 15.

Padden has won a number of other awards as well, including the 2012 Colorado Young Entrepreneurs Award (from the Young Americans Center for Financial Education), the 2012 Rockies Venture Club Colorado Capital Conference Youth Entrepreneurship Award and the 2012 Million Dollar Butterflies Top Entrepreneur Award.

The teen baker has some words of wisdom for other kids who may have a passion, "follow your dreams and believe in yourself and you can do anything."

Padden plans to use the money she makes from her cupcake business for her college education.
