LARIMER COUNTY - An 8-year-old female wolf-dog that climbed over a 10 foot enclosure and escaped from the W.O.L.F Sanctuary in Rist Canyon has been found.

The wolf-dog had arrived at the sanctuary earlier this month from Arizona and had been spayed. The staff noticed the animal missing 8:15 Sunday morning.

The wolf-dog, named, Cree, had been micro-chipped and vaccinated.

Shelley Coldiron, Executive Director at the W.O.L.F. Sanctuary, said Cree was very timid and frightened of people before arriving in Colorado and panicked with fear. Coldiron said that led to an unrelenting drive to flee.

They have already made modifications to the enclosure to assure the wolf-dog will not escape again.
