BRIGHTON - It took one year and $30,000, but students at Bromley East Charter School in Brighton are finally getting a new playground.

A team of parents, teachers and students finished construction on Sunday, after a year of fundraising.

While the old playground could only fit 35 students at a time, the expansion can now fit 200 - a necessary addition for a school that's enrollment has swelled to more than 900 students.

Brighton community members ultimately contributed $30,000 to the project.
