FORT COLLINS - Following the release of a study last month that says Coloradans will consume 2.2 million ounces of marijuana next year, we decided to see what that would look like.
Now, for obvious reasons we couldn't get our hands on 2.2 million ounces, which is about 142,000 pounds of pot.
But what we could look at was 3.5 ounces, which is what the experts say a marijuana user would consume in one year.
This video shows you what 3.5 ounces of medical-grade marijuana looks like, although it's illegal to buy that much at one time. Instead, most people buy their pots in "eighth" increment -- 1/8 of an ounce. And eight is the marijuana equivalent of a six-pack of beer, and how long it takes to consume either depends almost entirely on the user.
