KUSA - Firefighters are working to contain a 75 to 100 acre fire Saturday that has threatened three homes and several outbuildings.

The Streams Lake Fire began Friday at noon, and crews had a difficult time setting a perimeter around the fire due to the winds. At least 30 people are combating the blaze fueled by brush, aspen and spruce trees.

Many of the spruce trees in the area are dead and therefore more brittle because of damage caused by beetles.
Firefighters hope to have the fire under control by Saturday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it did begin on private land.
