WHEAT RIDGE - Wheat Ridge police say yet another truck hauling beer overturned on the ramp from eastbound Highway 58 to eastbound Interstate 70 Thursday afternoon.

The Colorado Department of Transportation closed the ramp while crews cleared the scene. The driver suffered minor injuries and the passenger inside was not hurt.

The driver of the semi somehow lost control of the truck and flipped over the guard rail, emptying an entire load of beer.

Tow trucks used cranes to haul the truck away and ground crews spent the afternoon and evening cleaning up the beer that was left behind.

Since 2011 at least four trucks carrying beer have overturned in the same area. The latest incident happened three weeks ago over the Fourth of July weekend.

CDOT says they have known for years that the ramp in the area is an issue. A spokesperson for the department says the ramp is nearly sixty years old and isn't up to modern design standards. The department says they don't have the funding to fix the issue.
