WELD COUNTY - Heavy rains Wednesday and Thursday prompted flooding and road closures in parts of Weld County.
More rain is forecast Friday. Those who want to report high water, washouts and other road hazards should call (970) 304-6522.
Closures Thursday included Colorado Highway 52 between U.S. Highway 287 and Weld County Road 5, south of Longmont; Weld County Road 14½ at U.S. Highway 85; the bridge at the Platte River; and Weld County Road 23 at Colorado 52. Cemetery Road in the Fort Lupton area was down to one lane, and the bridge at Colorado 52 was being evaluated.

The town of Windsor reported some of its trails might be closed due to localized flooding and asks that individuals not proceed on a trail where flooding has occurred. Edges might be obscured, and the terrain might be dangerous.
Meantime, residents in the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District who are experiencing flooding are asked to report to the Safeway grocery store in Firestone. Emergency personnel will transport residents to a safe shelter at Mead High School. For nonemergency needs or resources, contact the Carbon Valley EOC at (303) 833-2742.
Those with displaced animals in the Firestone area should contact Community Service Officer Michelle Powers at (303) 419-8747.
The series of storms had left three people dead in Colorado as of Thursday afternoon, including two in Boulder and one in Colorado Springs.
