BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) - Colorado law enforcement officers honored a Jefferson County sheriff's deputy who was killed in a motorcycle crash last week.

They were among those attending a memorial service for Sgt. David Baldwin Monday at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield.

The Colorado State Patrol says the driver of an SUV was trying to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone on Highway 93 on Jan. 26 and hit Baldwin's motorcycle.

Baldwin, a 27-year veteran of the department, was on duty and wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries.
