KUSA- Colorado has a local to cheer for on Tuesday during the Olympic debut of slopestyle skiing. Over the weekend, viewers got introduced to slopestyle snowboarding and now it's the skiers' turn.

Keri Herman, a University of Denver graduate and now resident of Breckenridge, Colo., will participate in the women's slopestyle ski finals Tuesday in Sochi.

Herman is one of the world's top slopestyle riders and is a favorite for an Olympic medal.

"It is great to make the first slopestyle team, and we're all just out here having a really fun time and trying to make the best of everything," Herman said.

The men will compete in slopestyle skiing on Thursday, February 13.
