BERTHOUD - Berthoud Town leaders voted 7-0 Tuesday night to contract with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement services.

The town board was looking into the Berthoud Police Department after controversy surrounding former Berthoud Police Chief Glenn Johnson and former Berthoud Police Officer Jeremy Yachik.

Last October, Yachik was arrested on child abuse charges after video surfaced of Yachick allegedly beating his daughter. Berthoud Police Chief Glenn Johnson was accused of covering the incident up.

LCSO Sergeant John Feyen was acting chief of the troubled department.
