KUSA - The Colorado Rockies are working with the Avalanche to host an outdoor NHL game next season, and things are getting close to a resolution.

During a Twitter chat Tuesday with fans, Rockies owner Dick Monfort said "We have been in discussions with the NHL and the Avalanche and hopefully we will have an outdoor hockey game at Coors Field."

As part of their Stadium Series this season, the NHL had two games at Yankee Stadium during Super Bowl week, and also had a game at Dodger Stadium on Jan. 25.

Coming up March 1, Pittsburgh will play Chicago at Soldier Field.
