EL PASO COUNTY - It sounds like something out of a movie, police and firefighters chasing after a speeding train with an engine on fire, but it wasn't something from a movie.

An officer with the Fountain Police Department was near the intersection of Highway 85 and Main Street in the city of Fountain when he noticed a train with an engine on fire heading out of town and towards the City of Colorado Springs.

The Fountain Police Officer continued to follow the train and alerted Colorado Springs Fire and Police Departments. CSFD and CSPD alerted the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, the Stratmoor Hills Fire Department to help stop the train and extinguish the fire.

The train was stopped and the fire was put out just south of Colorado Springs under the bridge near South Academy Boulevard and U.S. Highway 85/87.

There were no reports of any damage to property along the railroad tracks and there were no reports of any injuries.

It is not known if the train was damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
