DENVER - A three-team deal sends point guard Andre Miller from Denver to Washington. and in return picked up wing Jan Vesely.

In another deal Thursday, the Nuggets acquired veteran guard Aaron Brooks from Houston for Jordan Hamilton.

The Wizards are looking to improve their playoff position and added Miller, who will back up All-Star John Wall. Miller has not played for the Nuggets since a blowup with coach Brian Shaw during the Jan. 1 game when Miller was a healthy scratch.

Miller is a 16-year veteran and is averaging about six points a game and three assists this season.

As part of the Nuggets-Washington deal, the Wizards send Vesely to the Nuggets, and the Sixers will get point guard Eric Mayor from Washington along with two second-round draft picks.

The 6-foot-11 Vesely, 23, was the sixth overall pick in the 2011 draft by the Wizards. But he has averaged just 3.5 points and 3.4 rebounds.

Brooks, 29, has averaged 7.0 points and 1.9 assists in 16.7 minutes. For his career, Brooks has averaged 11.1 points and 3.2 assists in six seasons. He has played for Houston, Phoenix and Sacramento.

The 6-foot Brooks is 41.4 percent from 3-point range. He was drafted 27th overall by the Rockets in 2007.
