DENVER - When you think of the Goodwill you don't typically think of it as a place to shop for luxurious fashion wedding gowns.
A new trend is emerging where thrift stores are selling designer bridal fashion pieces for a fraction of the cost and Goodwill is the latest to join the bandwagon.
Saturday from 7a.m. to 11a.m., Goodwill in Denver at 21 S. Broadway is hosting its first bridal showcase.
The store will be selling brand new designer gowns donated by local bridal boutiques as well as gently used gowns donated by individuals at Goodwill stores.
A selection of bridal accessories including veils, and dresses for flower girls and bridesmaids will also be for sale.
Proceeds from the showcase will benefit Goodwill's Career Connection Centers, which provide career counseling job search support, and computer training to help individuals get back on their feet.
