DENVER - An escapee from Texas was hanging over the side of a Denver balcony, 20 stories up.
It happened Wednesday at the Glass House building downtown.
U.S. Marshals say the fugitive, Donnie Griffin, escaped from a work release program in Texas back in September. Marshals eventually tracked him to Denver.
When no one answered at an apartment on the 20th floor, they broke in, only to find Griffin hanging over the balcony with a rope made of bed sheets.
He jumped to the balcony one floor below, eventually sliding down a trash chute to the first floor.
He was then arrested.
New charges are pending.
