KUSA - The post-Olympic recognition continues for Vail skier Mikaela Shiffrin, whose image on Thursday was placed on the Wheaties cereal box.
It has become a tradition for the top Olympic athletes to come back with their image on the cereal box, and this year it is Shiffrin and snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg.
"Representing alpine skiing and joining so many amazing athletes who have appeared on the Wheaties box is a great honor," said Shiffrin, who won gold in the slalom. "This has been an unbelievable experience and proves that all of the time, hard work and determination paid off."
Vail skier Lindsey Vonn got her Wheaties box after the 2010 Olympics, along with Shaun White and Seth Wescott. Others thorough the years include Amy Van Dyken, Mary Lou Retton, Bruce Jenner and Michael Phelps.
This week, Shiffrin appeared Monday on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and on Tuesday was on the cover of this week's "Sports Illustrated."
