KUSA - Foggy driving conditions and increasing snow have made for adverse driving conditions in the mountains.

US 6 at Loveland Pass remains closed in both directions due to heavy traffic, snowy conditions and fog. Loveland Pass has been closed since 8:54 a.m. Saturday.

Vail Pass is back open as of 1:36 p.m. It was closed due to the inclement weather and numerous crashes eastbound as of 7:43 a.m. Saturday. Chain law is also in effect for all commercial vehicles heading I-70 westbound toward Vail Pass Summit.

Eisenhower Tunnel was briefly closed for about an hour and a half but reopened just past 10 a.m. Saturday morning. However, CDOT said there will still be extensive delays. Drivers should expect slow speeds, heavy snow and icy conditions.

Heavier snow is expected in the mountains through the weekend and an avalanche warning has been issued.

There is no estimated timetable for the reopening of Loveland Pass
