DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - If you have bad credit, Colorado is not the place to try to buy homeowner's insurance.

A new study from InsuranceQuotes.com shows that Coloradans with poor credit pay 141 percent more for homeowner's insurance than those who have excellent credit.

Nationwide, people with bad credit pay 91 percent more for homeowner's insurance. Colorado has the 15th-highest differential between its rates and the country's.

Those with fair credit in Colorado pay 48 percent more for homeowner's insurance than those with excellent credit.
