KUSA - An inmate mistakenly released from the Jefferson County Jail is back in custody.
Deputies say 41-year-old Damon Elliot Slayton was arrested Thursday morning near Broadway and Larimer in Denver.
On Tuesday, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office say human error led to his release. Slayton was being held in the jail in Golden on a parole violation. He served time for theft, burglary and robbery.
The sheriff's office says they're implementing an Improved "check & balance" system to verify inmate releases.
