KUSA - For the first time, a local high school student has earned the honor to serve as the National Ambassador for Money Matters: Make it Count.
Make it Count is a financial education program offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Charles Schwab Foundation.
The program teaches youth about spending plans, savings and investing, credit and college savings.
Aisha Barrows is a Junior at Clear Creek County High School and attends the Denver Broncos Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver. She earned this honor by completing the Money Matters course, starting her own College Invest (529 Plan), creating public service announcements about how to save for college and teaching others teens how to save.
Aisha plans to attend UNC to pursue a teaching degree. As a National Ambassador she receives a $5,000 scholarship and serves on the teen advisory board for the Boys & Girls Club of America.
