KUSA - April 26 is National Drug Take Back Day, and Coloradans will have the opportunity to get rid of their potentially dangerous, expired prescription drugs.

According to the organization, Think About It Colorado, medicines that sit unused in home cabinets are highly susceptible to misuse and abuse.

Flushing the drugs down the toilet create potential safety and health hazards to children, pets and the environment.

There are more than 40 Drug Take Back locations in the Denver metro area and more than 100 statewide.

To find a collection site near you go to the DEA's website: http://www.dea.gov..
