DENVER - Witnesses to a car crash in Denver helped capture a suspect drunk driver, according to police.
The crash happened at South Sheridan Boulevard and West Nevada Place around 1 a.m. Monday.
Police say a silver Chrysler was hit from behind and spun around on Sheridan Boulevard.
According to officers, the other car involved in the crash left the scene.
Witnesses told 9NEWS the driver of the Chrysler tried to do the same thing, but a taxi driver who saw the accident made sure the man stayed.
Other Good Samaritans stopped to help. When the taxi left to look for the other car, witnesses say the driver of the Chrysler tried to make another getaway.
"He disappeared and then I went around the corner and he was running down the street," said Elijah Everettes who stopped at the scene of the wreck to help.
"So me and one of the other guys that was here, we went and detained him, brought him back to the scene, sat him down and held him here until the police showed up," Everettes said.
Police are still looking for the other car involved in the crash.
Officers said they do not have a very good description.
