DENVER - A vehicle hit a bicyclist Wednesday morning at the corner of Bannock Street and West 12th Avenue and fled the scene.
It is unknown at this time if the driver was injured, but police say the bicyclist was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a witness who saw the crash, a woman was riding her bicycle west on West 12th Avenue and the driver was headed south on Bannock Street. The witness claims the car blew through a red light and hit the woman on the bike.
Police were able to locate the driver, Dale Campbell, a few minutes later near the intersection of West 10th Avenue and Cherokee Street and take him into custody.
Campbell is being investigated for vehicular assault and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury.
