KUSA - Two young men from Berthoud are among the group of inspiring Olympians competing at the Paralympic games in Sochi, Russia.
Saturday they helped USA's sled hockey team get a step closer to a medal.
Tyler Carron and Nikko Landeros both lost their legs several years ago when a car hit them as they changed a flat tire near Berthoud.
They were in high school at the time, now they're both 24 years old and elite athlete representing their country.
Landeros, a defenseman for team USA was a play maker. He had three assists to help the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team begin the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games with a 5-1 victory over Italy.
The team will play South Korea on Sunday.
