NORTHGLENN - A two-year-old boy fell from a third-floor balcony onto a patio two stories below at around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Northglenn Police.

The incident happened at Webster Lake Apartments on Washington Street.

Police said the toddler wandered onto the patio, climbed on top of the balcony's railing and then fell more than 20 feet onto a concrete patio below.

The child was said to be unconscious and not breathing, but by the time police and paramedics arrived the child had regained consciousness.

Investigators said the child was alert and talking after being taken to the hospital.

The child's mother and grandmother were moving into a new unit at the apartment complex when the child fell.

Police called the fall an accident and that charges will not be filed against the child's parent.
