KUSA - Twenty-eight WWII veterans received a warm welcome Saturday night at Denver International Airport.
The veterans touched down at DIA at about 7 p.m. after returning from a visit to Washington, D.C.
The veterans were on a trip to historical landmarks, particularly the war memorials.
Members of the Patriot Guard Riders of Colorado, along with current and former military members, held a formal celebration welcoming back the veterans.
A flag line was formed at the escalators leading passengers to the main terminal.
Patriot Guard members escorted the veterans out of the airport.
The Patriot Guard Riders of Colorado is a national organization that often holds ceremonies and events to honor veterans.
You do not have to be a veteran to be a Patriot Guard Riders member.
