KUSA - A University of Denver professor made history Friday by walking all the way down Colfax Avenue -- all 26 miles of it.

A professor in DU's Department of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, Conor McGarrigle is drawing a continuous line to mark his journey.

A satellite will photograph the line.

"I think Colfax is one of the most interesting streets in Denver," he told 9NEWS. "It is very historic."

University officials say this is the first artistic performance documented by satellite.

McGarrigle, who moved to Denver from Ireland a little over a year ago, calls his walk a "voyage of discovery."

"I have always found that if you walk in a city, you get to know it a little better," he said. "You get to know what the people are about."

McGarrigle started the walk this morning at the intersection of East Colfax and I-70.

"It represents all the different things that are going on in Denver today," he said.
