GREELEY - If you want a "fade" haircut – and you want one fast – Freddy Soto is your guy.
Soto, 23, has been cutting hair since he was 13.
"When I first started cutting hair, I used to take like an hour and twenty minutes," Soto said.
Now, after competing and winning at the state competition in Denver, he can proudly claim that a haircut takes him less than five minutes.
"I took first place with four minutes and 26 seconds," Soto said.
Next, he'll try his hand at a national competition in Boston in the "fastest fade" category.
"There hasn't been a time when I've took a day off from cutting hair," Soto said.
His goal, once he graduates from Cheeks International Academy of Beauty Culture in Greeley, is to open his own barber shop and tour as a famous speed barber.
