Rocky Mountain National Park is getting ready to celebrate its 100th birthday.
ESTES PARK – Rocky Mountain National Park is getting ready to celebrate its 100th birthday. As one of the oldest National Parks in America, Rocky Mountain is considered the most popular getaway destination for Coloradans and tourists.
If you've never been to Rocky Mountain National Park, you're missing out! The park features 415 square miles of stunning scenery.
Elevations in the park range from 8,000 feet in west, grassy land to 14,000 feet high atop Longs Peak.
Rocky Mountain National Park also features a variety of different species. Passing through the park you might stumble upon moose, Bighorn sheep, black bears, elk, cougars and eagles.
If you're interested in seeing some spectacular colors, make sure to check out the park's wildflowers in June and July; that's when they tend to pop up.
Rocky Mountain National Park is roughly an hour and a half drive from Denver.
While visiting Rocky Mountain, make sure to check out Estes Park and Grand Lakes on each end of the park. Both towns are full of amazing shopping, dining and fun!
