LITTLETON - It was a focal point on her wedding day, now a Littleton woman is on the hunt find an antique arbor that was stolen right from her fenced-in backyard.

Jennifer Strott and her husband Dane got married in Glenwood Springs on October 1, 2011. She says it wasn't the dress or the décor that she remembers most about that day, it was marrying the love of her life under their favorite antique arbor.

That heart-shaped, wrought-iron arbor is now gone. Strott says it was taken Friday around 6 p.m. when she and her husband were in the process of moving three blocks down the street into a new house.

She says a man in a light-brown pick-up truck with a large dog approached them asking for any extra scrap metal to make extra cash. A common occurrence in her neighborhood over the past two months.

"We told him no, so he continued next door where they are doing construction and started digging through the dirt pulling out iron poles and loading them into his truck," Strott said.

During that time, the couple dropped a few boxes off down the street. When they returned 30 minutes later, their arbor and the man were gone. Strott says she is devastated and worries that the man took it.

"It's a one-of a kind. I don't think we could ever find anything like it again," Strott said. "It's the most special, sentimental thing that we own."

For the couple, the arbor isn't just garden décor, it acts as a constant reminder of their wedding day; a sentimental reminder she hoped to one day pass down to her daughter.

"It brought back the most special day that we have ever had," Strott said. "I feel like a piece of our heart was stolen."

On Monday, Strott filed a police report with the Littleton Police Department. She has also reached out to at least six scrap yards in Denver, Littleton and Aurora with no luck.

The couple is offering a $500 reward for the return of the arbor.
