DENVER – Four people are injured – one critically – after a Chevy Tahoe slammed into Accent Optics at around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the SUV's driver was speeding and driving in the wrong direction when he slammed into the store, which is located off South Colorado Boulevard and Amherst Avenue. Four people were inside when it happened.

The driver – who police say is in his early 20s -- made no effort to correct the out-of-control vehicle. Police say they have found evidence indicating that he was under the influence of some kind of drug or narcotic. He was rushed to the hospital after the crash, and police say he suffered serious injuries to his arm.

Police plan to file charges against the driver next week.

A 60-year-old woman who co-owns the optical store has critical injuries, and a 20-year-old woman and 58-year-old man were both taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The car will be removed from the store sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning due to serious structural damage.
