BOULDER - Hundreds gathered outside the Meadows Public Library Tuesday to protest Rep. Jared Polis' decision to drop his support for ballot measures 88 and 89.
An outraged crowd confronted the Democratic congressman as he was heading into the library for a town hall meeting.
For 40 minutes, Polis answered questions from environmentalists and community members as he explained his Monday deal with Gov. John Hickenlooper.
Many people were screaming and yelling at the congressman, saying they felt betrayed by his decision.
Backers of all four ballot questions related to the debate over oil and gas policy in Colorado dropped their initiatives, a move that solidified a deal brokered by the governor's office.
