DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Where to hold the Republican Party's 2016 national convention — Denver or another city — will be a business decision, not a political one, says Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus.
"I don't buy into any of that stuff that people say — 'If you have it here, you're more likely to win.' History will tell you, if you have it somewhere you're more likely to lose actually," Priebus said.
"It's a business decision, and that's what this is, at least from my standpoint. Who's going to provide the best scenario for our nominees, our delegates, and whoever that is is going to get this convention."
Priebus and his GOP colleagues were visiting Kansas City Thursday on the second stop of their four-city tour of cities in the running for the 2016 GOP gathering. They stopped in Cleveland earlier.
Denver gets its turn June 9-11; then comes Dallas.
