LOVELAND (AP) - Loveland officials say someone has been trying to illegally collect municipal ballots in an election on whether to impose a two-year moratorium on fracking.
City officials said Monday two residents reported that someone appeared at their doors to collect ballots. The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports neither resident turned over the ballot.
City spokesman Tom Hacker says both incidents occurred Saturday. One person who tried to collect a ballot was a man and the other a woman.
Clerk Terry Andrews says the city doesn't hire anyone to collect ballots. They must be mailed or hand-delivered to the city clerk's office by 7 p.m. on June 24.
