Women typically remember the first time they got their period and can attest that a party did not follow the first flow.

In this hilarious advertisement, one girl receives a "first moon" celebration after she lies about getting her monthly friend.

When mom finds out her daughter is not telling the truth--typically menstrual cycles do not include nail-polish glitter--she decides to have a little fun at her expense to teach her a lesson. (The party even includes the game "pin the pad on the period" and a vagician.)

Since the ad campaign was posted on YouTube on June 17, it has received over 17 million views.

HelloFlo founder Naama Bloom says that she is "shocked at the wide reach of the video." The tiny company, which started in 2013, offers care packages and monthly subscriptions for women making physical transformations in their lives. For example, young girls can receive a period starter kit for $29.95.

"People are dying to have an open, frank conversation and they want to talk in a very straight way," Bloom said.
