We encourage everyone to purchase pink tulips at any Safeway store and plant them in October in honor of our sisters, mothers, wives, grandmothers or daughters with breast cancer. The Safeway Foundation will donate $25,000 to benefit research efforts at the University of Colorado Health Science Center which focus on breast cancer immunotherapy and young women's breast cancer.

Once the tulips have been planted in October, next spring we expect the whole city and front range area to be painted in pink. This will be the time for us to celebrate those who are survivors and to give hope to those affected by breast cancer.

We hope to see pink tulips in people's gardens, at schools, in public parks, in green spaces at a business or any community area where a bulb can be planted.

Look for the Pink Tulip display inside your neighborhood SAFEWAY store. The cost will be $4.99 for 10 count bulb package.

Be sure to call your buddy and let's work together to plant this town pink!
