DENVER - On Thursday, Colorado legislatures will be discussing two bills regarding DUI charges and sentences.

House Bill 1036, sponsored by Representatives Mark Waller (R-Colorado Springs) and Lori Saine (R-Firestone), will allow district attorneys to charge a third DUI conviction within seven years or a fourth DUI conviction in a lifetime as a felony.

House Bill 1158, sponsored by Representative Polly Lawrence (R-Littleton), will set mandatory minimum sentences for vehicular homicides and/or assaults that result from driving under the influence.

Both bills will be heard in the House Appropriations Committee on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 a.m.
