DENVER – Staffers and advisors will make technical visits over the next two weeks to Denver and the other five cities bidding to host the 2016 Republican National Convention. Denver's visit is scheduled for Wednesday.
A small group of RNC staff and advisors will take an in-depth look at financing, convention venues, media work space and hotels each city has to offer.
"We've entered the next phase of the site selection process with all cities on an even playing field – there are no favorites, there are no underdogs," said RNC Site Selection Chair Enid Mickelsen. "The technical visits will help aid the committee in their decision making process as we narrow the field of cities in contention for the 2016 Republican National Convention."
In May, the RNC Site Selection Committee will refer to the reports from those technical visits when voting on which cities will get official visits. The full RNC Site Selection Committee and RNC delegation will conduct the official visits in late May and early June.
