KUSA – Weary passengers are often seen sprinting to the nearest airport outlet to charge those depleted devices.

Airports and airlines are now trying to solve the problem of the outlet shortage. United Airlines announced Thursday a plan to add 500 charging stations in seating areas at several airports.

Chicago O'Hare International Airport will get the first 110 charging station in Concourses B and C. That should happen by the end of March.

In the coming weeks, United will install charging stations in Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, Washington Dulles, New York LaGuardia and Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans.
