KUSA- Two years isn't a long time to wait to realize a childhood dream. After being drafted by the Rockies with the 46th pick in the 2012 MLB draft, Eddie Butler will make his debut against the LA Dodgers almost two years to the day from when he was drafted.

"Two years was my plan. I wanted to be up here in two years and to be able to do that is unreal," Butler said Thursday. "I just want to get out here and help the guys win."

Butler was called up from the Double-A Tulsa Drillers after 11 starts and was 4-4 with a 2.49 ERA.

"I just want to come in and be part of the team and give the guys a chance to win," Butler explained.

Butler grew up a big fan of the Atlanta Braves who the Rockies will be playing next week after the Dodgers series. For now though he's got the first few innings of Friday's game on his mind.

"If I go out there a pitch six innings and have us in the ball game it's going to be a great day."
