KUSA- Colorado State football coach Jim McElwain feels insulted by Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. Following the Rams' 31-17 victory over in-state rival CU Buffaloes, Mayor Hancock presented McElwain with the Centennial trophy.

During the presentation, Mayor Hancock momentarily forgot McElwain's name. McElwain then reached over and grabbed the microphone that was in the Mayor's hand and corrected Hancock. The Mayor then finished the presentation by correctly identifying the coach and handed him the large trophy.

At his news conference Monday, coach McElwain was still bothered by the Mayor's slip up and brought it up to the media at the end of his weekly news conference.

"The mayor doesn't even know the head ball coach's name, I guess that really shows where we are and where I am as a program," McElwain said in disgust.

"Boy, that makes a guy feel good. The guy giving you the trophy can't spit your name out?" McElwain continued. "Shows you how much they care about Colorado State right?"
